Scott Baker is the President as well as oversees the Technical Services Department which focuses on ENERGY STAR Certifications, Energy Audits, Energy Modeling, Commissioning, Retro Commissioning, and LEED related engineering tasks. He has experience working with multiple rating systems including: LEED-NC, LEED-CS, LEED-CI, LEED-EBO&M, and ENERGY STAR.
Scott has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and has the following licenses and certifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) – Georgia, North Carolina
- Commissioning Process Management Professional CPMP)
- High Performance Building Design Professional (HBDP)
Scott has more than 14 years of experience in HVAC systems design and commissioning. He has worked on many commercial product types including Office Buildings, Community Centers, Hotel and Conference Centers, Catering Kitchens, Schools, Laboratories, Warehouse, Data Centers, and Manufacturing as well as residential energy efficiency programs.
Scott has provided ENERGY STAR verification and PE sign-off, Energy Audit, Refrigerant Management, Ventilation Calculations and Measurements, Retro-Commissioning, Ongoing Commissioning, and Emissions Reduction Reporting scope for 17 LEED EBOM projects.
Scott’s goal as an engineer is to reduce the impact of the built environment on the natural environment. This matches the goals of SIG’s clients by reducing the operational costs associated with energy/water consumption. Personally, Scott enjoys sports (especially college football), woodworking and traveling.
